Custom Golf Trophies and Medals for Golf-Club Kürten

For the Club Championship of Golf-Club Kürten, we at Biocraftlab had the opportunity to implement a very special project: custom trophies and medals, tailored to the various rankings and winner categories of the tournament. The result was four trophies as well as numerous personalized medals, which are not only functional but also a real visual highlight.

Particularly important in this project was the combination of individual design, high-quality metallic appearance, and precise 3D printing manufacturing. Through the targeted use of Silk PLA, slow printing speeds, and fine nozzles, we were able to create silver and gold surfaces that look very elegant and are reminiscent of real metal.

Tailor-made Trophies and Medals for the Club Championship

For the Golf-Club Kürten, we manufactured a complete set of trophies and medals for the 2026 Club Championship. In total, the following were created:

• 2 goblet-shaped Club Champion trophies
• 2 logo trophies in the shape of the bull logo
• 20 golf ball medals
• 8 bull medals

Thus, the project comprised a total of 32 individually manufactured awards.

All products were manufactured using 3D printing and specially adapted to the event, categories, and club design.

Two Large Club Champion Trophies in the Style of a Claret Jug

A special highlight were the two large trophies for:

• Club Champion (male)
• Club Champion (female)

The shape is based on a classic goblet-style trophy in the manner of a Claret Jug. These two trophies were made in silver and black and reach a height of approx. 50 cm. Due to their slender, elegant shape, they appear very high-quality and are perfectly suited for a golf tournament.

The printing time for these large trophies is accordingly high: up to 12 hours per trophy at a stretch. Afterwards, the printed elements are assembled and glued to the pedestals by us.

Logo Trophies in the Shape of the Bull Logo

In addition to the large Club Champion trophies, we manufactured two further trophies for the 9-hole Club Championship. These trophies are designed in the shape of the bull logo of Golf-Club Kürten, making them particularly unique.

The two logo trophies were produced for the following categories:

• 9-hole Club Champion (male)
• 9-hole Club Champion (female)

Through the combination of gold, black, red, and silver, these trophies particularly well reflect the club's aesthetic. The geometrically designed bull gives the awards a modern and striking look.

Custom Medals for Various Rankings

In addition to the trophies, we also produced a larger series of golf medals for various rankings. Two different designs were used:

1. Golf Ball Medal on a Red Background

This medal features a golf ball on a red background and was used for numerous categories, including:

• Club Champion 2026
• Club Champion (female) 2026
• AK30 Club Champion / Club Champion (female)
• AK50 Club Champion / Club Champion (female)
• AK65 Club Champion / Club Champion (female)
• Junior Club Champion / Junior Club Champion (female)
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Net Club Championship 2026
• AK75 Club Champion

A total of 20 medals of this type were created.

2. Bull Medal with Gold Logo

The second medal variant features the golden bull in the center, directly incorporating the club logo. These medals were used for the 9-hole Club Championship:

• 2 x 9-hole Club Champion / Club Champion (female)
• 6 x 1st–3rd Net 9-hole Club Championship 2026

A total of 8 medals of this type were created.

How We Achieve an Elegant Silver and Gold Look with 3D Printing

A key part of this project was the desired high-quality metallic look. To make silver and gold appear as elegant and realistic as possible, we use special Silk PLA with a beautiful glossy effect.

Additionally, during production, we deliberately ensure a very slow printing speed. Especially with silk materials, this results in an even smoother and shinier surface. This creates a finish that is reminiscent of metal and is particularly well suited for trophies and medals.

This is a good example of how, in 3D printing, not only can shapes be customized, but the visual effect can also be specifically controlled through material selection and printing parameters.

Fine Lettering Thanks to a 0.2 mm Nozzle

For trophies and medals, fine lettering and clean details are particularly important. For this project, we therefore worked with a 0.2 mm nozzle. This allows even small inscriptions on pedestals and medals to be precisely implemented.

This allowed us to, among other things:

• Clearly display names and titles
• Integrate years
• Label age groups
• Legibly implement rankings such as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Net

Especially for individual tournament awards, this precision is a major advantage of 3D printing.

Multicolor Medals with Color Change Printing

Another advantage in this project was the use of our color-changing printers with 6 nozzles. This allowed us to apply multiple colors to the medals simultaneously and make the designs particularly vibrant.

The combination of gold, red, silver, and black ensures:

• strong visibility
• clean contrasts
• high-quality appearance
• immediate recognition of the club design

Multicolor 3D prints offer a lot of creative freedom, especially for logos, symbols, and lettering, and enable individual awards that clearly stand out from standard goods.
